St. Louis –

"Liberal media" is a term most news outlets want no part of. But bloggers wear their political stripes with pride.

The Huffington Post website is unabashedly left of center. And founder Arianna Huffington says journalism is better when reporters ditch what she calls the pretense of objectivity and write from a specific point of view.

She's in town (Tuesday, Nov. 25) as part of Maryville University's St. Louis Speakers Series.

Just before her visit, Arianna Huffington spoke by phone with KWMU's Matt Sepic.

Huffington is also a co-host of "Left, Right, and Center," which you can hear Sundays at 10:30 a.m. on KWMU's new digital channel, KWMU-2.
