St. Louis – Authorities in St. Charles County are still looking for a man who fired at a deputy along the Katy Trail.
The shooting happened Saturday night along the hiking and cycling path in St. Charles.
Authorities say the man fired one shot after the deputy approached him to see
why he was there. The deputy returned fire but neither man was hit.
About 100 officers searched rugged terrain along the Missouri River, but the suspect got away.
Police doubt the man is still in the area of the Katy Trail but are urging cyclists and walkers on the St. Charles part of the trail to be cautious.
