Mo. soldier dies in Iraq; was based at Colo. post

FORT CARSON, Colo. – A soldier from Springfield, Mo., who was assigned to a unit at Fort Carson, Colo., has died in Iraq.

The Defense Department said Monday that 24-year-old Pfc. Dylan T. Reid died Saturday in a non-combat-related incident in Amarah, Iraq.

He was assigned to the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, part of Fort Carson's 4th Infantry Division.

Reid joined the Army in September 2008 and went to Iraq in March of this year. It was his first deployment.

His specialty was repairing tracked vehicles. His decorations included the Army Commendation Medal and the Army Good Conduct Medal.
