Fontella Bradford
Communications SpecialistAs the Communications Specialist for St. Louis Public Radio, Fontella gets to showcase the award-winning local reporting, original programming and community engagement that make STLPR a beloved regional institution. She studied journalism and fine art at Webster University and has worked for institutions across St. Louis as a journalist, copywriter, editor and project manager.
Fontella was formerly Publications Associate at the Saint Louis Art Museum during the Museum’s expansion. As project manager and editorial support staff, she helped the Design Department produce thousands of new didactics for the Grand Opening in 2013. She’s a native St. Louisan who rather redundantly enjoys reading, writing, painting and public media in her leisure.

The American Association for Cancer Research recently awarded STLPR producer Greg Munteanu the 2023 June L. Biedler Prize for Cancer Journalism in the auditory journalism category for his work on Episode 5 of the Where it Hurts podcast, produced in conjunction with Kaiser Health News. -
St. Louis Public Radio has been selected as a nominee for the 2023 Webby Awards in the Limited Series/Special Diversity Equity & Inclusion category for the “Doin’ It Our Way” podcast. -
Journalism award season is underway and St. Louis Public Radio has received its first recognition of the season. Investigative Reporters and Editors Inc. (IRE) recognized the station for in-depth coverage of Springfield’s groundwater contamination. -
St. Louis Public Radio welcomed several new and returning members to its community advisory board at this year’s annual board retreat. The board is working to build a strategic plan for the next three years. -
After an intensive search process, St. Louis Public Radio has selected Ashley Lisenby to serve as the station’s next News Director. Lisenby will supervise and support STLPR’s local newsroom of 28 reporters, producers, and editors. -
The contest is open to high-school aged teens in our listening area — including the St. Louis, Quincy, Illinois, and Rolla, Missouri regions — who demonstrate a talent for documenting their world through photography. -
In 2022, STLPR launched a new season of its We Live Here podcast, a series exploring stories about race and class in our region, by partnering with We Live Here, Auténtico!, a podcast created by Latinx professionals. -
On Monday, January 16, St. Louis Public Radio wll run special programming from PRX and a live SLSO performance for Martin Luther King Jr. Day in place of St. Louis on the Air, and co-sponsor a free in-person observance for the public. -
