Cushman & Wakefield real estate firm to add 600 jobs in St. Louis
Six hundred jobs are coming to St. Louis over the next four years.
Commercial real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield on Friday announced the company’s $17.4 million expansion. The firm has signed a lease for a new 90,000-square-foot office in Town and Country.
The firm already employs 900 people in the St. Louis area. Cushman & Wakefield have been in St. Louis for 90 years.
Brian Ungles, market leader for the company, said St. Louis is a great location for growth.
“It starts with the employees that we have here," said Ungles. "The customer service, the ‘show me’ attitude we talked about that — we have a tendency here to kind of under promise and over deliver. And I think that mentality has really made other parts of the country take notice.”
Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon was on hand for the announcement and said the expansion proves St. Louis is an international hub of entrepreneurship and innovation.
“As a global leader in real estate services with employees in more than 60 countries around the globe — needless to say this company could have grown anywhere," Nixon said. "But Missouri’s strong workforce and outstanding business climate made Missouri the right choice in the next chapter for this company’s continued growth.”
The Missouri Department of Economic Development says the company could receive over $8.2 million dollars in state incentives if it meets job-creation criteria.
