Ground Broken on Wellston Business Incubator

By K. Lavery, KWMU

Wellston, MO – Business and government leaders are optimistic that a future business development center will spur economic growth in the St. Louis region. Thursday, Missouri Governor Bob Holden, St. Louis County Executive Buzz Westfall and other officials met in the city of Wellston to break ground for the facility, which will help local start-up businesses with office and storage space needs and networking opportunities. St. Louis Regional Empowerment Zone executive director Mike Jones says the center highlights the importance of small business development to inner city communities.

The Wellston Enterprise Center is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2003.
