UM-St. Louis Gets New Chancellor

Chancellor-designate Thomas George

St. Louis, MO – University of Missouri President Elson Floyd appointed Thomas George the new chancellor of UM-St. Louis on Friday.

George is currently the chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. He takes over for Don Dreimeier, who has been interim chancellor since Blanche Touhill retired last year.

The 56-year old George started as a chemistry professor; he's also a jazz pianist.
