Springfield, MO – A lawsuit by a St. Louis group claims the Environmental Protection Agency hasn't done enough to force Missouri to clean up the state's lakes and rivers.
The Missouri Coalition for the Environment wants the EPA to get the state's Department of Natural Resources to set limits on bacteria as a way to protect all the state's rivers, lakes and streams.
The group says the agency has had more than 20 years to compel Missouri to follow the Clean Water Act and has failed. An EPA spokesman says he can't comment on the suit.
