Illinois Looking to Cut Costs of State-Owned Vehicles

By AP/KWMU

Springfield, Ill. – The state of Illinois is looking for a private company to help lower the costs of maintaining its fleet of cars.

The state spent $46 million dollars last year to maintain nearly 14,000 vehicles. The hope is a private consultant might find at least $3.6 million in savings in the next two years.

There's a meeting planned in Chicago this Friday for companies interested in the consulting contract.
