St. Louis, MO – The renovation of Forest Park is nearing completion and will mark another step with the opening of a new visitor and education center next month. More than $90 million will be spent on the park's improvements by the time the master plan is completed next year.
Forest Park Forever executive director Jim Mann says the restored Lindell Pavilion should help his group raise another $3 million a year to maintain the park, We're trying to bring attention to those needs of the park and by having a home for the park, a visitor's center, establish it as an institution in its own right that people use and we want them to use it carefully and to contribute to its upkeep.
The new visitor and education center - which features a caf , locker rooms, exhibit space and classrooms - will open November 16th.
