St. Louis, MO – The Duke of York, Prince Andrew, concluded a two-day visit to St. Louis Thursday, having visiting to promote trade between the United States and Britain.
At Boeing's St. Louis County training center the Prince met with representatives of British companies considering business relationships with the aerospace giant.
Prince Andrew is Britain's Special Representative for International Trade, and says Boeing's relationship with about 200 U.K. suppliers is a good example of the long-standing business rapport his country has had with the United States.
"Nearly 40% of our foreign direct investment comes form the United States, and it's almost exactly the same in the other direction."
Boeing employs about 500 people in the U.K. and imports more than $2 billion of British aerospace products, including the Harrier jump jet.
The Prince also spoke to a business group in Clayton and visited the Missouri Botanical Garden.
"One in four jobs around the United Kingdom are related to international trade," the Prince added. "We're determined to increase those partnerships we have around the world."
