Richmond Heights, MO – Family and friends of St. Louis County Executive Buzz Westfall paid their final respects at his funeral this morning. Hundreds of people at Immacolata Church in Richmond Heights heard more of Westfall's personal qualities than his political victories.

Father John Ditenhafer spoke of Westfall as a people person who cared more about his family than gaining a higher office, "He developed a very simplistic part of life; knowing when to work and when to play. Having a harmony that allowed him again to do the best he could when he was at this job, but also knew how to enjoy those who around him."

A private burial followed the mass. Westfall was 59 when he died Monday after battling a staph infection for three weeks.
