School Board Revokes School Sale
St. Louis, MO – The St. Louis School Board Thursday revoked the sale of a historic school building, saying it didn't realize the significance of the structure.
The board this week sold Theresa School, near SLU Hospital, to a developer who wanted to raze the building and build a shopping center.
Prominent architect William Ittner built the school 98 years ago, but board members told the Post-Dispatch this week that they didn't get all the proposals to review, and they were told it was not an Ittner building.
The board accepted a bid of $1.3 million.
