Jefferson City, MO – Holden says that in light of the Medicare reform bill Congress passed on Tuesday, some changes will be made to the state program, Senior Rx.
Senior Rx provides prescription drug coverage for those 65 and over who are too wealthy to qualify for Medicaid but toopoor to afford private prescription coverage.
The new federal legislation would provide some coverage up to $2,250 in drug costs. There would be a break in coverage over that level, until costs reached $5,100. Holden says he'll propose legislation to make sure the Missouri program fills in that coverage gap.
