New System Will Track Criminals Through Entire Process

By AP/KWMU

St. Joseph, MO – Missourians will soon be able to get information about certain criminals in their e-mail inbox.

People who sign up for the VINE program will get updates by email, phone, or fax.

VINE, Victims Information and Notification Everyday, will let people know when someone will be in court or released from jail.

The goal of VINE is to let victims of crimes keep tabs on their offenders.

Missouri is one of 19 states developing such a statewide system.
