Man Who Ran Down Pedestrian Ruled Insane

St. Louis, MO – A man who says Jesus told him to run down a woman because she's black was found not guilty yesterday by reason of insanity.

The Post-Dispatch says Steven Johnson was in the midst of diabetic-induced psychosis. Eleanor Hickerson survived after being knocked down and dragged 100 feet from a bus stop in University City in January 2003.

Documents show Johnson's blood sugar level was three times the normal rate during the incident. He also had several seizures at the police department and hospital where he was taken after the crash.
