St. Louis – Florida Governor Jeb Bush was in St. Louis Wednesday to headline a fundraiser for Republican Missouri gubernatorial candidate Matt Blunt.
The President's brother told party faithful at the luncheon that Blunt will bring a positive philosophy to the office, a contrast to incumbent Bob Holden.
"Matt Blunt will bring a hopeful, optimistic approach to governance," Bush said. "You can have the best plans in the world, but if the leader who is advocating those plans does it in a pessimistic way, a negative way, those policies won't be implemented."
A Blunt campaign spokesman says the event raised about $250,000. Matt Blunt is the most well known Republican in the governor's race. He was elected Missouri Secretary of State in 2000.
