Roberti Has Few Regrets About Year in St. Louis

(UPI file)
Outgoing Interim Superintendent William Roberti.

By Kevin Lavery, KWMU

St. Louis – This week, the St. Louis Public School district is closing one of the most difficult chapters in its history. On Wednesday, William Roberti will serve his last day as the district's interim superintendent.

Thirteen months ago, Roberti and his team from the New York-based firm Alvarez and Marsal set out to reform the district's operations and financial practices.

Along the way, Roberti presided over a boisterous year of school closures, layoffs and near-constant criticism from many in the St. Louis community.

KWMU's Kevin Lavery asked Roberti what specific accomplishments over the past year stand out in his mind.
