St. Louis – Democratic Presidential candidate John Kerry and his running mate John Edwards are planning a whistle-stop train tour through Missouri this week.

Details of the visit are not finalized, but the campaign event will feature a rally at Union Station in St. Louis Thursday afternoon at 12:30 p.m.

Missouri congressman Dick Gephardt says the candidates' visit will spotlight a state Democratic Party that will be healing from a contentious gubernatorial primary election.

"Primaries are always somewhat difficult but I'm absolutely convinced the party will be, is and will be completely unified and as unified as it is at the national level," Gephardt said.

Kerry and Edwards will also stop in Hannibal, Jefferson City and Kansas City as part of the train tour this week.

President Bush campaigned in Missouri last week.
