Missouri – More than 150 new laws took effect this weekend in Missouri.
They include complex topics like an overhaul of the state's system for handling abused and neglected children.
There are also more routine regulations like determining when drivers must turn on their cars' headlights.
One new law requires police to complete a demographic report on everyone they stop, not just those who are ticketed.
Another mandates DNA samples be taken from all felons before they're released from prison.
And another law going into effect says insurance providers must treat mental health disorders the same as physical ailments.
