St. Louis, MO – St. Louis Public School officials say about 80% of the district's students showed up for the first day of school last week. That's a slight increase over last school year, in which 76.4% of students attended on the first day.
But overall enrollment is also less than last year, which is part of the reason why the percentage of students in class was up.
First-day attendance figures are among the data that determine how much money a district gets from the state.
