st. louis, MO – Missouri's education department is sending $1.7 million to UM-St. Louis over the next five years.
Researchers at the campus will use the money to find out whether a state program called Reading First is doing any good.
Reading First aims to get kindergarteners through third graders reading at grade level. It was created to help Missouri schools meet new standards set up by the No Child Left Behind law.
