Jefferson City, MO – Seven months ago the Missouri Supreme Court upheld the concealed firearms law, but faulted its funding mechanism.
The court said four counties don't have to implement the law. That's because opponents showed that it imposes costs not covered by the state -- an unconstitutional, unfunded mandate.
The city of St. Louis and St. Louis County refuse to take concealed gun applications. The city hasn't gone to court.
