PD: R. Heights, Clayton Might Study A Merger

By KWMU

St. Louis, MO – The Post-Dispatch reports Wednesday morning that the mayors of Richmond Heights and Clayton are exploring the possibility of merging the two cities.

Nothing is set in stone, though. Richmond Heights Mayor Betty Hemphrey told the paper she is in no way locked into the merger; the only discussion has centered about how the cities should study the issue.

Clayton Mayor Ben Uchitelle added that there are "a million details" that would have to be worked out.

Voters in both cities would have to approve a merger. Both suburbs were incorporated in 1913.
