Springfield, MO – Attorney General John Ashcroft says the nation can rest assured that terrorists won't get a chance to disrupt the November elections. Ashcroft returned to his home area in Springfield, Missouri, today. He spoke to about 200 people at his former Rotary Club.
Agents with U-S Immigration and Customs Enforcement -- or ICE -- bhave been matching identities of visa violators nation-wide with names on secret government terrorism data-bases. The actions -- designed to spot al-Qaida operatives -- have been criticized by some, for possibly targeting people because of their ethnicity or religious beliefs.
