St. Louis Is Making Progress To Eliminate Lead Poisoning

By AP / KWMU

St. Louis, MO – The city and its partners say they're well on their way to eliminating lead poisoning in children by 2010.

On Monday, St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay, U.S. Senator Kit Bond and others visited a remediated home to kick off Lead Safe Kids and Homes Week.

Lead poisoning is a problem in St. Louis and other cities due to lead-based paint used in older homes. It can cause developmental delays for children.
