Springfield, MO – A former Southwest Missouri State University booster has filed a second Title IX complaint against the school over gender equity.
Joyce Mahoney was a member of the SMS Foundation before she became frustrated with the administration's treatment of a former women's basketball coach.
In the latest complaint, the Mahoney calls for better facilities for female athletes. An earlier complaint alleged the university was not providing equal athletic opportunities to female students.
SMS officials dispute the complaint, saying the school is a leader in the area of women's athletics.
The Office of Civil Rights at the U.S. Department of Education is investigating.
