Mascoutah, Ill. – Trans Meridian Airlines started flying out of Mid-America Airport in Mascoutah, Ill. on Sunday.

TransMeridian is offering non-stop flights to Orlando.

Pan Am and Great Plains airlines have in recent years also offered passenger service from airport. They both later left the airport; Great Plains, in fact, went bankrupt and it appears St. Clair County will be out a few hundred thousand dollars on a loan it gave to Great Plains that the company right now cannot pay back in full.
