St. Louis, MO – St. Louis Symphony musicians will vote today (Monday) to either accept a contract offer or go on strike.
Seven hours of talks between musicians and management on Sunday failed to resolve the impasse.
The symphony wants the musicians to take a pay cut. But the players took big cuts three years ago, when they renegotiated their contract to keep the symphony afloat.
Other issues include benefits and work rules. If the players vote to strike, it will take effect immediately.
