St. Louis, MO – American Airlines has been making a profit at St. Louis Lambert Airport for about a year now.

That's a far cry from late 2003, when the airline's losses forced it to cut about 200 flights from its Lambert schedule.

The company is now trying to get rid of any impressions that it's still bleeding money. For one, about 20 flights have been added back at Lambert.

Vice President and General Sales Manager David Cush ran American's St. Louis operations when the big cuts were made in late 2003.

He told KWMU's Tom Weber that the airline - and airport - have made a lot of progress.
