Boy shocked while climbing electrical pole on a bet

St. Louis, MO – A suburban St. Louis boy remains in critical condition after he took a $5 bet that he couldn't climb an electrical tower.

Justin Porter got within three or four feet of the top of the pole in Madison County, Illinois, when an arc of electricity shocked him with 34,000.

The 13-year old then fell 30 feet to the ground; he has burns over 40% of his body, a dislocated hip, a broken pelvis and collapsed lungs.

He was scaling the tower near the town of Mitchell.
