Springfield, MO. – Vice President Dick Cheney was in Springfield, Missouri today visiting a national veterans group.

Cheney thanked hundreds of veterans for their service in a speech at the Military Order of the Purple Heart's national convention.

He told the group that the United States must stay the course in its fight against terrorism in Iraq and elsewhere.

Several veterans at the event said they too support the military effort and believe the country must fight tyranny and work to spread freedom.
