Springfield, MO – You can start calling it Missouri State University.
The law that dropped the word "Southwest" from Southwest Missouri State University's name took effect Sunday.
About 2,000 people were in Springfield this weekend for MSU-related festivities, which included crowding bookstores to buy new shirts and hats with the MSU moniker.
That same law also means you can start calling Harris-Stowe in St. Louis a university, instead of a college.
