A commission studying Missouri's Medicaid system will be in St. Louis today (Wednesday) and tomorrow (Thursday) for more in a series of hearings they're holding around the state.
State lawmakers voted this spring to cut more than 90,000 people from Medicaid in an effort to trim the state's budget. They also included a sunset provision that will end the program altogether in 2008.
The Medicaid Reform Commission is a group of 10 legislators who are to come up with a plan on how to restructure Medicaid.
But as KWMU's Maria Hickey reports, some say the commission has turned its back on those most affected by the current cuts.
