St. Louis, MO – Boxing promoter Don King and the Savvis Center have postponed a September 30th event that would have featured three championship matches.

Promoters say ticket sales were lackluster, in part, because of too much competition from the playoff-bound Cardinals, the Rams, and the Blues.

A spokesman for Don King Productions would not say how many tickets had been sold, but adds that King believes St. Louis remains a viable boxing market.

More than 22,000 people were on hand in February at the Savvis Center when Zab Judah scored a TKO in the ninth round over St. Louisan Cory Spinks to gain the undisputed world welterweight title.
