A few feet short of a marathon in Kansas City

By AP/KWMU

Kansas City, MO – The people who put on last weekend's Kansas City Marathon say the course was a bit short.

Runners didn't go the usual 26.2 miles. A mix-up made the course 0.4 mile short. Organizers say the mistake involved a loop in front of Liberty Memorial.

Another mix-up earlier this year in Chicago had runners going an extra mile.
