St. Louis, MO – The commission held its last formal meeting 14 months ago. But chairwoman Susan Green says in the interim, the group has been involved with soil mapping to pinpoint geologic hazards and training community emergency response teams.
Green says many of the people who plan for earthquakes also plan terrorism and health crisis prevention.
"Maybe this commission did not have a formal meeting," Green said, "But everything that has taken place in the last 14 months has made this state better prepared regardless of the onset of the event.
The commission is short four members - a situation Green says will be remedied when state lawmakers reconvene next month.
