Mallinckrodt workers reject contract offer
St. Louis, MO – Workers at the Mallinckrodt chemical plant in St. Louis have rejected a contract offer from the company.
About 98% of nearly 400 workers voted down the proposal. They've been locked out of the plant since Friday.
The United Auto Workers union represents the employees, who make up about a third of all workers at the plan. They have been negotiating since January.
The union turned down a previous offer earlier this month. Pension plans and health care are the main issues in the dispute.
