Jefferson City, MO – Missouri state Senators on Tuesday voted to protect cell phones and fax machines from unwanted telemarketing calls.
The legislation that gained first round approval would let individuals and businesses add cell phone numbers to Missouri's no-call list for telemarketers. That list is now limited to residential land-line phones.
The legislation also would prohibit faxes and text messages to phone numbers on the no-call list.
The bill needs a one more vote in the Senate before moving to the House.
