St. Louis, MO – The Joint International Light Rail Conference offers local planners a chance to showcase the Metrolink Cross-County Extension.
Metro president and CEO Larry Salci says though it's still unfinished, the extension is generating significant interest from businesses looking to locate or expand along the line.
"I think the (Brentwood) Boulevard Project, frankly, in Richmond Heights and Clayton across from the Galleria Mall is an example," Salci said. "And we've had other developers talking to us about actually adding stations to the existing alignment.
Metro has come under fire for a $126 million cost overrun - a mistake Salci vows will not be repeated.
He adds Metro will beat its own October deadline for completion.
