St. Louis, MO – A man who was kicked and punched during an arrest that was shown on live television is going to prison for three years for an unrelated crime.

Edmon Burns was sentenced Thursday for violating conditions of his probation by using marijuana. On January 30th, Maplewood officers tried to pull over a van driven by Burns after believing he was acting suspiciously. A chase began that ended in St. Louis City.

Footage showed three Maplewood officers and one from St. Louis punching and kicking Burns during the arrest. The officers claim he was trying to resist arrest. The FBI is still investigating that incident.
