Alton, Ill. – Police in Alton, Ill. say a teenager randomly stabbed a woman who was sitting at a blood pressure checking machine in a pharmacy in Alton.
Ronda Wiegand, 47, is hospitalized at Saint Louis University Hospital, where she was flown with the five-inch steak knife still lodged in her back.
Madison County prosecutors have charged the 16-year-old suspect as a juvenile with aggravated battery. His name isn't being released.
Alton police say the incident took place Sunday night at a CVS pharmacy, where Wiegand was checking her blood pressure while waiting for a prescription to be filled.
