MU toughens smoking ban at university hospitals

By AP/KWMU

Columbia, Mo. – The University of Missouri is implementing more restrictive smoking bans at all of its hospitals and clinics.

Smokers have been barred from lighting up in rooms and offices for years, but now they won't be able to smoke on any hospital property, including lawns, parking lots and even vehicles parked on those lots.

Starting September 1, MU Health employees can even be reprimanded for smelling like tobacco smoke.
