St. Louis, MO – Praxair has delayed its planned controlled burn at the site of a massive explosion last year.
The company was to start this week burning off some gas left over in canisters that are too unstable to move. But that's been delayed; a company spokesman says there's no particular reason for the delay.
A fire at the plant last June caused explosions that sent gas cylinders shooting into the nearby Lafayette Square neighborhood. Praxair and the city are looking for a new site in St. Louis.
