Belleville, Ill. – A former Metro East teacher accused of attacking a student from another school and leaving her in a Belleville park is out of jail on bond.
Samson Shelton left the St. Clair County Jail Monday after a judge lowered his bond from $1 million to $800,000 dollars.
Shelton has been ordered to remain under house arrest and wear an electronic monitoring device.
Shelton is charged with the attempted murder and kidnapping of teenager Ashley Reeves last month.
Reeves' suffered a broken neck. She remains hospitalized in St. Louis.
