Judge orders recount in Overland mayoral race

By AP/KWMU

Clayton, Mo. – Overland Mayor Ann Purzner will learn next week if she will keep her job.

On Wednesday, St. Louis County Circuit Judge Larry Kendrick ordered a recount in the April fourth mayoral race that Purzner won by four votes over Mary Beth Conlon. The recount is scheduled for next Tuesday.

Since her election, Purzner has tried to replace Police Chief Jim Herron and City Attorney Bob Herman.

A different judge is deciding if she overstepped her authority in the case of the police chief.
