Kansas City – Authorities today identified a construction worker who died after falling from a bridge in Kansas City as 49-year-old Andy Wilson Sr., of St. Louis.
Wilson's death is the second fatal fall at the Lexington Avenue bridge in two months. And it is the third this year involving Thomas Industrial Coatings.
Police spokesman Darin Snapp said Wilson was disassembling a platform when it gave way and he fell about 50 feet to his death. He was not wearing a safety harness.
On May 10, Thomas Industrial worker Dan Denzer, of Arkansas, died after falling through a hole in a platform on the bridge.
And in February, Thomas employee Jimmy Belfield of Cadet, died after a fall from the Jefferson Barracks Bridge in St. Louis.
Federal investigators are looking into all three accidents.
