Obama trying to win evangelicals back for Democrats

Washington, DC – Illinois Sen. Barak Obama is calling for Democrats to reach out to evangelical Christians. Republicans have long laid claim to that powerful voting block, but Obama believes Democrats can win them back with issues like the drive to end poverty.

The junior U.S. Senator spoke with NPRs Renee Montagne for Friday's Morning Edition.
