Metrolink adds trains to accomodate extra traffic

St. Louis, MO – Metrolink is adding three trains this morning to take passengers from the Emerson Park station in East St. Louis to the Central West End.

The extra trains are needed because people who use Madison County Transit buses to get downtown are instead being dropped off at Emerson Park.

The downtown trips were dropped for at least the next month. Madison County Transit says construction delays on the Poplar Street Bridge make it impossible to stay on schedule.

Until further notice, the extra trains will leave Emerson Park at 6:43, 7:03 and 7:43 a.m. and arrive at the Central West End at 7:04, 7:34 and 8:14 a.m.
