Eight Brentwood students have staph infections
Brentwood, MO – Eight middle school and high school students in the Brentwood school district are being treated for staph infections. One of them had to have surgery.
Letters have been sent home to parents as officials try to determine the cause.
Staph can cause skin infections that could result in redness, wounds or boils. It can in rare cases be serious and even fatal.
Students are being advised to wash their hands frequently and not share items such as towels, clothing, lotions or creams.
